I know there is a lot of passion for opposing the many examples of hate, intimidation and oppression by the current administration.
It seems to me there are lots of opportunities for specific actions in this arena. Already, we have see the Muslim ban; attempts to silence the press, and even Senator Warren, as of last evening; elevating a hate monger to the principles committee of the NSC; high praise and collaboration with the Russian dictator; denigration of women; many racist remarks and policies; and tacit approval of the hateful behavior of citizens against minorities and other vulnerable individuals, by refusal to condemn such actions. I'm sure I've neglected to mention other examples.
I think it's important to have rapid and decisive protest when these things occur, as well as vigorous support for the targeted individuals or groups du jour. As someone said last week after the Muslim ban was announced, "And then they came for the Muslims, and we said, Not This Time, M*#! F*@#$!!"
I would like to propose a breakout group for this subject, Stand Up To Oppression. It would be my pleasure to spearhead it, if there is interest.
